Partner
Beth Mayfield practices
in the area of estate planning. Beth’s
experience includes estate tax planning,
drafting wills and life insurance trusts,
estate administration, preparing estate
and gift tax returns, forming Georgia non-profit
organizations, and state and local tax matters.
Beth graduated from Auburn University as
the top graduate in the Auburn School of
Business with a major in Business Administration
- Accounting. She passed the certified public
accounting examination in 1991. While at
Emory, Beth served on the staff of the Bankruptcy
Developments Journal (1993-1994).
Prior to becoming a partner with Tatum Hillman
Hickerson & Powell, LLP, Beth was a
partner with Tatum, Levine & Powell,
LLP, (Atlanta, 2000-2009), an associate
at Altman, Kritzer & Levick, P.C. (Atlanta,
1997-2000) and an associate at Alston & Bird,
LLP (Atlanta, 1994-1997). Beth was a speaker
at the Georgia Fiduciary Law Institute in
July, 1997, presenting “Estate Planning
for the First Born Generation.”
In the community, Beth has been an active
volunteer at Morris Brandon Elementary School,
the Schenck School and the Lovett School.
She served as the Morris Brandon PTA Co-
President in 2005-2006 and was a member
of the Morris Brandon Finance Committee
and Executive Board for three years. She
served as the 2009-2010 Chair of the Schenck
School Annual Fund, 2008-2009 Chair of the
Schenck School Parent's Association and
was a member of the Schenck School 2008-2009
Board of Trustees. Beth is also actively
involved at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church
where she has served on the Stewardship
Committee, the Children’s Education
Committee, and was Treasurer of the Day
School Advisory Council for five years.
Beth and her husband, Scott, have four children.
